About Us

Linda Xu, founder of Mitty Mau, and her daughter Kat
Mitty Mau is a small, family-run brand based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Why We Exist
Mitty Mau exists to encourage those living with mental illness to seek help, and to remind families and friends that their care matters too. You're not alone.
How It All Began
When my daughter Kat adopted a gentle rescue cat named Mitty, I didn't expect her to change our lives — but she did. Mitty's sweet gentleness filled our hearts. The whole family fell in love with her, and she brought us closer together.
Kat, with a caring heart and creative vision, kept encouraging me to dream bigger: What if we could take that loving feeling and share it with others?
Then, Mitty Mau was born.

Why Mental Well-being Matters to Us
I have a dream: to advocate for mental health.
Mental illness has touched my family for three generations — I belong to the middle one. From being a foreign student pursuing higher education in the U.S., to becoming a mother of two balancing career stress with family life, I know how heavy it can feel. And I also know how powerful it is to hear: You're not alone. There's help. There's hope.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people living with mental illness has risen sharply around the world. It breaks my heart to see so many children, teenagers, and young adults struggling — including my own children and their friends. Now is the moment for us to step up, and step out, to help — one post, one shirt, one act of care at a time.
Mitty Mau is our way of sharing that message in every piece we create — clothing that comforts your body while quietly supporting your heart. We hope you'll carry this message forward too: support mental health, and support the people you love and care for.
What We Create
We design and make casual clothing in small batches, with comfort, quality, and intention. The cat theme is subtle but meaningful — to us, the cat symbolizes independence, resilience, and being true to yourself.

Our Promise to You
When you wear Mitty Mau, we want you to feel more than comfort — we want you to feel the love and strength from us to you.
From our family to yours, thank you for helping us spread care, awareness, and hope.
Wear Love, Share Strength, Purrsue Your Dream.
