I’m Linda Xu, founder of Mitty Mau, a small, family-run brand based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Why We Exist

Mitty Mau exists to encourage those living with mental illness to seek help, and to remind families and friends that their care matters too. You’re not alone.

Why Mental Well-being Matters to Us

As a Chinese immigrant who moved to the US three decades ago, I had a dream in my heart: advocate for mental health awareness.  

Mental illness has been a part of my family’s story for three generations, mine included. From a foreign student seeking higher education in the US, to a mother of two coping with stress at work while raising family, I know how hard it can be, and how touching it is to hear: You’re not alone. There’s help. There’s hope.

Mitty Mau is our way to share that message in every piece of clothing we make. Clothing that comforts your body, and quietly delivers the support to your heart. We also want you to share this message with your community: support mental health, support who you love and care.

How It All Began

While I kept the dream in my heart, the spark came from my daughter, Kat. When she adopted a gentle rescue cat named Mitty, I didn’t expect her to change our lives, but she did. Mitty's sweet gentleness filled our heart. Kat, with a caring heart and creative vision, kept encouraging me to dream bigger: What if we could take that feeling and share it with others?

Then, Mitty Mau was born.

What We Create

We design soft, relaxed-fit clothing. The cat theme is subtle, but meaningful. To us, the cat symbolizes independence, resilience and being true to ourselves.

Every piece is crafted in small batches, with comfort, quality, and intention at the heart.
